Why do students struggle with place value?

How does the Place Value Card help us?
We have 9 cards for Ones, Tens, Hundreds, Thousands, Ten Thousands and Lakhs. This helps us in composing and decomposing numbers in in thousands and lakhs. Gradually children become proficient in finding and comparing the place value of the digits in numbers.
