CHALLENGES IN UNDERSTANDING PROBABILITY:

Probability is a measure of the likelihood of an event to occur. There are three major types of probabilities – theoretical probability, experimental probability and axiomatic probability. Theoretical probability is still not very difficult. Mostly students are able to visualize and understand. But understanding experimental and axiomatic probability is not easy. Students need to do number of experiments and see the occurrence and non-occurrence of events in order to understand and quantify all possibilities.

WHY PROBABILITY KIT?

Students can do numerous experiments foe repeated number of times with cards, pebbles or marbles, coin and dice in the probability kit. Students can see the occurrence and non-occurrence of events. They can calculate and quantify the possibilities. Nothing is left to imagination. Children can see and discover the formula. This helps in developing in-depth understanding of the concept.
