Is NIOS good for the future?

Plan the qualification and subject combination around the learner’s next step. Universities, professional courses and employers set their own eligibility requirements, which should be checked directly before choosing subjects.

Is NIOS harder than CBSE?

NIOS and CBSE have different syllabuses, study arrangements and assessment requirements. Difficulty depends on the subjects, preparation and support needed by the individual learner. Compare the actual course requirements rather than assuming that the two syllabuses are identical.

Is the NIOS board easy to pass?

No result is guaranteed. Review the syllabus, practise relevant questions, use teacher feedback and complete the required assessments and practical work. Previous examination papers can help learners understand question formats.

Do all colleges accept NIOS?

Do not assume that a qualification alone meets every college’s requirements. Verify the current subject prerequisites, minimum marks, entrance examinations and other conditions for the specific institution and course.

Is it easy to score 75% in NIOS?

A particular score cannot be promised. Build a study plan around the current syllabus, independent practice, practical requirements and regular feedback. Check current entrance-examination and college requirements separately from the teaching subscription.

NIOS SUBJECT CHOICES & EXAM SCHEME

In NIOS Curriculum for Senior Secondary (Class 11th and 12th), Vikalp offers a total of five compulsory subjects including one or two languages. Subjects are divided into 6 groups: Group A, B, C, D, E and F.

Students can choose any five Subjects with either one or two languages from Group A and the remaining subjects from Group B, C, D, E and F. He/she can take more than one subject from Group A and B.  However, there is a limitation: Only one Subject from each group C, D, E and F can be opted.

If a student wants to take more than 5 subjects. He/she can take additional two subjects from any Group with additional fees. However, this also has the same limitation: only one Subject from each group C, D, E and F can be opted.
